Ready.....it's KUNA time!!

Get in Line and Vote for Ryan!! Hey guys!! So, recently I went to KUNA with my CO-ED-Y group. If you'll remember my post about KYA, this is very similar. At KUNA we get to represent a different country. This year (my first year!!) we were Greece. I got to wear a little Greek Goddess costume. My room-mates were Harper, and Amelia!

Anyway, Ryan, an 8th grader in KUNA, ran for Secretary General......and WON!!! And our whole delegation won Best Country!! That is the second best award you can get at KUNA....that's a pretty big deal! Sadly...for KUNA though, I didn't get to be a Proposal Author....I know, I know....boo hoo! But I debated some verry good bills! Now...KUNA like KYA is a very inspiration and inspiring Y conference. It puts a lot of things in perspective. Most people just go to get out of school. That....that is NOT why I go. When I get older I want to do something important. And with KUNA and KYA, they broaden your horizon. I realized....it hit me like Babe Ruth hit the baseball!.....I want to run for 2011 KYA, not KUNA, KYA Executive Governor!! I really hope my CO-ED-Y advisors will let me run. Sadly, I think two other girls have a better chance, but it has become a passion of mine that I WANT REALLY BADLY to run!!

Well....I guess that's all for now! Bye!

Soak Up the Son....I mean Sun!

Hey Bloggers! For most of you I hope it's getting hotter and hotter with each day. We are getting closer to summer! Which means no school! But that's not all. Here's a poem I wrote:

         Soak Up the Son
The sun is good so the Son is a gift
Rays like life
Never handed to you or
Rapped in a bow

One small will grow large
Let it flow and He will know
Hard times bring family gatherings
All planned by the Son
For you to absorb
Like a sponge

So....did you like it? You may not undersatnd it the frist few times you read it. You may not understand it at all. Read....listen....absorb.....heck, Soak Up the Son!

Here's how it is: Bad. Here's how God WANTS us to see it: Good

Now, something bad happened to me yesterday. Not BAD bad...but not necessarily good. You know...something you'd rather not have happened. Well...just a minute ago, after I was groaning about how much I wish I wasn't in this situation, I realized something. I think God brought me to this realization to help me. Things....could be worse......a lot worse! I don't know how good I have it! There are starving children in Haiti, beaten children in...everywhere, and homeless children in Africa! And here I am, moaning about a little problem.

God wants us to appreciate the things we have. Then, if we are appreciative, then he will grant us nicer things. God gives us a little at a time. He is always testing us, seeing if we can handle what we are given. A little quote from the Bible: He who can be trusted with little, can be trusted with a lot. Or at least I think that's what it is...I guess you'll find out when your done reading this post! I know a book-two books actually. The main character has to find a way to deal with the ever coming bad situations God put in front of them. They are: Smile and Here's how it is, here's how I see it. And yes, I got the title of this post from the title of that book!

Well, sorry to disappoint, but that's all for now. Thanks SO much for reading! Check back REAL soon!! My KUNA trip is coming up!!

What Family Means to Me

Friendship is amazing, love is beautiful, family is a piece of work!! Do you like that?! I thought you might. I'm the kind of person who just looks at life on a regular basis and thinks of how grateful I am. I just looked at my sister..........yeah. I was.....overwhelmed. She has grown up right under my nose! It seems as if only a day ago I was tickling her tummy, trying to make her laugh. Oh, when she was in her crib, I would get low where she couldn't see me and make her cry, on purpose. But, not for too long. Then, I would JUMP OUT and say: Here I am!!!! And her laugh........her.....smile.......that....was enough. That was all I needed. She was so much fun!

I can remember a time when I could be mean to my older brother and he wouldn't care!! One time, I was mimicking him while he was eating breakfast, and he just walked away. It was funny because my voice was really squeky and high pitched!! He is so nice. I look up to my brother a lot. And bro.....if your reading this....I'm sorry I got on your iPod!!

My Dad.....he is my BEST friend. I feel like I can tell him anything!! Literally.....ANYTHING!! He listens to me. He thinks before he judges. Which is something I think every girl wants. Ya know......now that I think of it.....I bet everyone wants that. We all want to feel loved and needed by someone. We want to know, theres somebody out there......that truly.......cares. I feel I have a lot of people like that. But....especially my dad!

My Mom......WHERE do I even begin with her?! I get my writing skills from her. By the way....you should check out her blog. http://www.mommy321.blogspot.com/ You should check it out! One day...she read me a poem that she wrote for her dad's funeral....it was beautiful. I feel that if your a good writer....you always know what to say to someone......in about every situation.....well.......not with my mom!! I'm kidding!! She actually does know what to say....and I'm still trying to think of what to say...........
