Happy 4th of July!🇺🇸

So, I know I haven't posted in a while. But I got sort've crafty a minute ago and decided, why not blog about it? Anyway. Today is July 4th, and I of course got dressed for the occasion. Then I was thinking...I need a sure crafty accessory to complete this whole shabang.

Then I had the epiphany to cut up a pair of jeans and tie it to make a headband. I did so, and it was really quick and cute! You just cut a circle off the bottom of the jeans, (maybe two if required) and then tie one end together, and bobby pin the loose ends under your ears!

If I wanted to have put more effort into it I could've glued the sides together to clean off the scissored cuts, or maybe added some glitter, sequins...I have tons more ideas to go back and glam-ify this craft with. But I just thought I'd share, because it's so cute and was a very quick fix for a "I need a cute accessory".

Thanks for reading. Have an amazing day with your family and friends. Hope it's full of good times and even better good. Haha!

Almost Gone

My brother. He means a lot to me. For my entire life he has been there for me. From whenever he would play outside with me, to whenever he drives me to school in the morning. I have always wanted to be like him. I remember one time we were at a play house in McDonald's when we were little with our cousin and these kids kept saying mean things to him...so I told them to shut up and leave us alone...haha! :)
My point is, we've always been together, had each other's backs. I would do anything for him. And it's sad to think our time as big brother & little sister growing up together is almost gone. He is a Junior in high school. Almost gone...about ready to leave. But I'm not ready to see him go. Once he leaves, who is gonna go look at the Christmas Presents first on Christmas morning? That's HIS job. I can't do that! Somebody has to see them before I do! And who is gonna do it? He taught me how to play video games, and sometimes would let me win...

The job of a big brother is huge. And most the time they don't even know how important they are to the family. Marc Brown once said: Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero. And I know that I would rather have my brother to look up to and rely on than some weirdo is tights! :)

I'm making this to say to my brother: I love you, I need you. Don't grow up and leave too fast. You hold the starring role in a lot of my favorite childhood memories. And even if we both grow up, you'll always be my big brother. I love you bub!! ;)

It was nice growing up with someone like you - someone to lean on, someone to count on...someone to tell on!  -Author Unknown

Saturday Morning - Poem

Hey guys! It's a long three day weekend. And I love the weather today. Cloudy and cool...fall is in the air. Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons so you can only imagine how I feel right now! I got a Maple Pumpkin air freshener for my bedroom and I'm WAY too excited about it! I can't wait to switch to the other scent which smells like berries, but not the kind of berries that make you feel like you need an oxygen tube to breathe. The kind that should be baked in your grandmother's Thanksgiving pie. So, since this is such a nice occasion for me I thought I'd enlighten you with a poem. (:

Reminds Me Of You

It's coming again,
it's about that time.
You leave me with no ends,
to tie back together.
I pick up the pieces,
but they're gone with the fall.
You left me by winter,
you didn't care at all.

The wind reminds me,
I let you to go.
It whispers unspoken words,
He's buried in the snow.
The crunch of the leaves,
the heartbreak I keep.
You're face in the trees,
I see it all now.

You lied like the wind,
every day a new front.
It's hard to forget,
you left me so hurt.
So I'll fly with the wind,
forgetting your name.
I don't need to pretend,
you didn't know it was a game.

Hope y'all like it!! Have a great September!! (:

Glam Crafts

Glam. This is such a cute and simple craft, I just had to share it with you guys! This girl has a blog called Sania Pell At Home. If you click the link it will take you to her post about the craft I'm sharing with you now, but you can also explore more ideas at her blog. In her post she will explain in more depth how to do it than I will, but it's so neat and cute I just had to share!

Basically, you take a bunch of sequins and dump then in a vase. Add water, then a flower, and bam! Instant glam. I've been really interested lately with cute and easy crafts that look amazing, so I'll be posting more soon!

Before The Storm

Hey guys! I know I haven't blogged in a long time. But I decided to get on and write something. I'm sittin' at home right now and a big storm looks like it's about to pour the rain, and strike some lightning. And, as you know, I always tie in regular activities to deep metaphors. So, here's my deep post!

Life is like a sunny July day...long, but very memorable. It's unforgettable. So, when you feel like a storm is about to ruin your perfect day, just learn that sometimes, you have to dance in the rain. You have to embrace the pain. Because if you don't understand it, it's harder to learn from it. God gives you little tests of your strength. See how well you can handle the bad and get right back to embracing the good.

So as you sit, and wait...dreading the rain, remember how great things were before the storm hit. Before you could only see the gray. Remember the sun, the bright blue sky, and those long nights by candle-light. Remember the feeling of going to bed at night, and wanting the day to never come to an end. Standing with all your friends and looking at all of them and feeling truly blessed. When out of the blue you send your best friend a long message saying how much you appreciate her humor. Watching T.V. with your sister and suddenly realizing how fast she's grown up. Doing homework, stopping for no reason, and go over to your big brother's room and telling him you love him, and miss the days of taunting him for the last Popsicle.

Before ya know it, your "during the storm", will be an "after the storm". Life is a roller coaster of emotions and events. But stay positive...the sun always shines. And...who ever heard of a rainbow without a storm. The storm here has passed, and I'm ok...(:

Bad Things Are GONNA Happen...

Hey y'all! Bad days. We all have them. And they come sometimes in the WORST ways. I had one today. A bad week, then a big event that makes you wanna just scream! I understand. But you have to be able to handle it well, because life isn't always going to be easy. It gets hard and it gets sad. But you have to move on because if you don't, you get stuck in what was, and not what is.

And hey! If you have a huge weight on your shoulders and it gets too heavy one day...it's completely OK to cry it out. Let all the bad emotions trapped inside you get out. If you keep it all locked up, you're gonna get really stressed out. And that is not good. We all carry around these things, that hold us down. We know they're there but sometimes we try and hide them. They weigh us down like anchors. And if you can learn to control how you hold onto that anchor, it becomes more like a balloon.

Well, I guess my main point is...when bad things happen, move on. In five days, you'll probably forget about all of it anyway. So smile at the sun, and pray to God. Life is good and you're living in the hot seat. Enjoy!!

Will You Take The Challenge??

"One man can do great things, because one man can inspire greater people to reach higher levels. In this form of greatness...more is being challenged. Therefore, more is accomplished." ~Cali

I think that's a pretty good quote to start off this post. The man I had in mind when quoting that, was Tim Tebow. What an amazing, Christ driven man. I aspire to do great things like he has with my everyday life. He has been blessed in a way that he has millions of people watching him, and seeing the good that he does. So he is...almost guiding more people to God. And he definitely practices what he preaches. Anyway, in my average situation, I want to do and guide the way he does. God put him in the public eye for a reason....and well.....John 3:16. Simply that.

So, here's my challenge. Memorize scripture. It's harder than it sounds. Now, remember when I tried putting scripture on every post? Yeah that didn't work out so well. The problem with that was all I was doing was searching, the copying and pasting. I should just be reading scripture anyway. Here are my two favorites!

1. Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things. ~Psalm 98

2. From the rising of the sun to it's setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. ~Psalm 113:3

So take the challenge, not just to memorize scripture. But to lead where it is dark. Step forward when everyone is holding back. And overall, be the one that you think about when all else fails. And keep God in your heart, because he has blessed your life.
